Thomas “Tom” LaTorre, Esq.

Thomas LaTorre (“Tom”) is an associate attorney at Safe Harbor Law Firm, working out of the firm’s Fort Myers office. Tom graduated cum laude from Rutgers University in New Jersey with a bachelor’s degree in history. A New Jersey native, Tom later moved to Florida and graduated cum laude from Ave Maria School of Law in Naples. During his time at Ave Maria, Tom earned book awards in his legal writing and contracts classes and was a full scholarship recipient. During the first-year oral advocacy competition, Tom was awarded for submitting the top-scoring appellate brief. Tom also served as the Executive Notes Editor of the Ave Maria Law Review and worked as a teaching assistant for the legal writing classes. At graduation, Tom was recognized with the St. Raymond of Penyafort Award, awarded each year to the graduating student who most excels in written advocacy.

Since joining Safe Harbor, Tom has helped hundreds of families across Florida navigate estate planning with clarity and compassion. Tom also regularly presents educational workshops that address common estate planning misconceptions and explain how a proper estate plan can help protect family legacies from long-term care costs and other unanticipated threats. Prior to joining the Safe Harbor team, Tom litigated contract disputes related to homeowner’s insurance policies across Florida. During his free time, Tom enjoys going to the gym, watching sports, and visiting his family on Marco Island.
